Hi everyone, welcome back to term 2. We hope you had a great holiday and are ready for a really exciting term.
As you know we will be learning about our local history this term. Next Thursday the 9th of May we will be visiting the Highercombe Hotel Museum where the students will be able to experience life 100 years ago.
On Thursday the 6th of June we are going to the Tea Tree Gully Library to take part in the Local History talks. We are still looking for parents to help transport students there. If you are able to help please let us know as soon as possible. If we don't get enough helpers we will need to hire a bus which will incur a cost.
The children may have told you we have had a sound field system installed in our classroom which is to help students with a hearing impairment. We have already noticed the benefits of this as children can very clearly hear instructions and it helps to clarify the speaker's voice.
Speak to you soon,
Rachael

Week 5 Stardome Visit
We had a visit from SciTech who bought along their Stardome tent. The aim of this visit was to further enhance our learning about night and day, how the Earth moves and also how the sun and moon move.
The students really enjoyed going into the tent and being able to see the night sky.
It was pleasing to note that the staff from SciTech were particularly impressed with how much the kids knew about the topic.
